Neoprene Rubber Properties and its Applications

Neoprene Rubber is one type of synthetic rubber which is used for various types of products such as wetsuits, water repelling products and acts as a gasket sealer. Neoprene gaskets are capable of resisting high temperature. Neoprene is ideal for other larger applications such as cars, boats, engines and airplanes. Gaskets made out of this particular synthetic rubber are a permanent sealing agent.

Properties

Neoprene Rubber has various ranges of beneficial properties namely,

  •  Ozone resistance
  • Weather resistance
  • Oil and Chemical resistance
  • Resistant to tear and damage
  • Chemical Corrosion resistance

It is less expensive and used in insulation and packing applications. Neoprene polymer is used in musical instrument for doing drum practices. Halloween masks are also designed and manufactured through specific kind of synthetic polymers. This ensures waterproof and durability. Other products are dishwashing gloves and sports protective garments. Due to its high tensile strength, products manufactured out of this are versatile and dense. People also use neoprene rubber products even because of its ageing-resistant property and outstanding flame resistance.
